Call for Pitches! Due December 23rd!

In art, where is the line between appropriation and a thoughtful, meaningful usage of preexisting art? To what extent does copyright offer protections for creators, and when does it inhibit creativity? In answering the question, please use specific examples.

Please email your pitches (not completed essays) telling us a little bit about yourself and your idea to nonfiction@boulevardmagazine.org by December 23rd. Length for the final piece is 1,000 words and pays $100. We will be accepting up to seven pitches. Final deadline for the finished piece is January 31st.
